MotherFriends (MF) is a research-driven organization committed to promoting Morality Everyday through evidence-based solutions for public health and social challenges. Founded in 2007 as Research & Idea Development (RID) in northwestern Bangladesh, we began our journey with a vision to improve lives through knowledge and innovation. Over time, our work expanded nationwide, and today, as MotherFriends, we collaborate with communities, policymakers, and practitioners to co-design sustainable solutions for local and global problems. Our mission is to generate actionable insights and foster partnerships that create meaningful impact for society, individuals, and the world.
Early Childhood Development
MF runs free preschools staffed by local volunteers, with the goal of exploring how volunteer-driven education using local teachers and instructors can enhance early childhood development and prepare children for successful entry into primary school.
Through these programs, we combine research with real-world action to generate evidence, empower communities, and build a more resilient and equitable future.

At MotherFriends (MF), we believe in the power of community-driven solutions to create lasting impact. Our initiatives focus on research and action in three critical areas:
Volunteer-Based Antenatal Care
We provide free antenatal care to pregnant women from low-income families in villages across the country. Through volunteer-led services, we aim to understand whether community-based care can improve maternal health and birth outcomes.
Early Childhood Development
MF runs free preschools staffed by local volunteers, with the goal of exploring how volunteer-driven education using local teachers and instructors can enhance early childhood development and prepare children for successful entry into primary school.
Climate-Resilient Homes
We work hand-in-hand with communities to co-design housing solutions that withstand climate challenges. Our Climate Resilient Home Program seeks to create safe, sustainable homes that protect families against environmental adversity.
